Limited Warranty Policy

Alumni Chairs LLC (“us”, “we”, or “our”) provides you, the original retail purchaser, with the limited warranties on your Alumni Chairs product described herein.  These warranties apply to products purchased from an authorized AlumniChairs retailer or AlumniChairs.com and apply only under conditions or normal, indoor, residential use, unless the item is specifically designated as suitable for outdoor use, subject to certain limitations and exclusions.  Our residential products are not designed for commercial settings.

 

Warranty Limitations and Exclusions

Because of the craftsmanship and/or the use of natural materials in our products, variations will occur from piece to piece.  These limited warranties do not cover such minor variations or differences  between floor samples, swatches, or printed illustrations and your item(s).  Our warranties do not cover products sold “as is”, purchased from a source other than Alumni Chairs, an Authorized Alumni Chairs Retailer, or used in a commercial or nonresidential setting.  Any product modification by retailer or consumer, or use of non-Alumni-Chairs parts, voids this warranty.

THE REMEDIES PROVIDED ON THIS WEBSITE ARE EXCLUSIVE AND, TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY APPLICABLE LAW ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER REMEDIES, WARRANTIES, OR REPRESENTATIONS, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ALL OTHER OBLIGATIONS AND LIABILITIES, WHETHER IN CONTRACT OR IN TORT, ALL OF WHICH ARE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED HEREIN, IN NO EVENT SHALL ALUMNI CHAIRS BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR OTHER DAMAGES.

This warranty is valid only in the contiguous United States on products purchased after April 1, 2012.

 

Your Rights

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.  Some states do not allow the exclusions and limitations incidental and consequential damages or the limitations on implied warranties, so the described limitations may not apply to you.  However proper care and use are essential for preserving your rights under this warranty.  For complete use and care instructions, please call Alumni Chairs at 866.748.2230 or refer to AlumniChairs.com and Chair Care on this website.

 

Inspection of Each Chair by Customer

On our webpage DELIVERY, we emphasize the importance of inspecting your chairs before signing to indicate acceptance of your chairs:  “All delivered chairs are carefully and thoroughly inspected to preclude any flaws or damage before delivery.  We depend on clients to carefully inspect each chair or bench for any damage that may have occurred in transit.  The shipping carton should be inspected for external damage and, also, the chair or bench inside the carton.  If ANY internal damage is detected, it is important to inform the carrier and reject the shipment.”

 

Warranty Service

If you have a concern about an Alumni Chairs product that you feel is covered by this warranty, contact us or the authorized Alumni Chairs retailer where you purchased your Alumni Chairs Classics product.  You will need your dated sales receipt to initiate your warranty claim; it will also be helpful to have your delivery ticket, if applicable, as the warranty period begins at the time when you receive the product.  If you live outside the contiguous United States, you may be responsible  to pay service  and delivery fees, or you may be required to return the product to us.  The sole remedy provided by Alumni Chairs under this warranty will be to repair or replace the defective part or product or to issue a refund.  We reserve the right to decide the appropriate remedy.  If we decide to replace the defective part or product, only the defective part or product will be replaced.  If we decide to replace a product that we no longer sell, we will replace it with a comparable product or equal or lesser value.  Refunds, if any, will be adjusted for the product’s use and age.  If your product  is repaired or replaced, the limited warranty will not be renewed or extended.  Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 866.748.2230 or your Authorized Alumni Chairs Retailer.

 

 

General Warranty Coverage

Our products are warranted to be free from material defects in workmanship, materials, and construction from date of delivery for the number of years noted below when used for normal, residential, indoor use.  Only Outdoor items are warranted for use outdoors.

EXCLUSIONS:  Our products are not warranted against normal wear and tear, commercial use, accidents, abuse, or neglect, or from damage resulting from improper use, care, or storage.  Our warranty  does not cover products used in commercial, nonresidential settings.  Because many of our products are handcrafted and made with natural materials, variations in size, shape, and color can be expected.  For complete information regarding care and use, please  refer to AlumniChairs.com and Chair Care on this website.

Warranty does not cover expansion, contraction, or effects of extreme high or low humidity or temperature.  Wood furniture will have one or more of the following characteristics which are not considered quality defects:  variations in grain and color, knots  mineral streaks, and/or pitch pockets.  Warranty does not cover darkening or lightening of wood or finish which can occur naturally, over time.  Warranty does not cover use or abuse by pets.  Warranty does not cover use of cleaning chemicals or agents.
Lacquer Finish

6 Months

Warranty does not cover expansion, contraction, or effects of extreme high or low humidity or temperature.  Warranty does not cover darkening or lightening of wood or finish or the effects of direct sunlight, which can occur naturally, over time.  Warranty does not cover use or abuse by pets.  Warranty does not cover use of cleaning chemicals or agents.
Upholstered Backs (frame, foam, padding)

1 Year

Warranty does not cover compression of filling materials.  Fluff all semi-attached back pillows, and fluff and rotate all loose back pillows.
Upholstered Seats (frame, foam,  padding)

1 Year

Warranty does not cover compression of filling materials.
Cushions

1 Year

Warranty does not cover loss of resilience, loft, or crown.  Cushions can compress up to 1″ within the first year.  Fluff all semi-attached back pillows, and fluff and rotate all loose back pillows.
Seat and Back Cushions

1 Year

Warranty does not cover loss of resilience, loft, or crown.  Cushions   can compress up to 1″ within the first year.  Fluff all semi-attached back pillows and   fluff and rotate all loose back pillows.
Fabric

1 Year

Warranty does not cover wrinkling, fading, pilling, stains, or effects of direct sunlight.  Any  retailer- or customer-applied stain-protection treatment voids this  warranty.  Our fabrics are warranted to be free of manufacturing defects, seam slippage, dye transfer, and fraying for one year.  Warranty does not cover use or abuse by pets.
Leathers

1 Year

Warranty does not cover natural markings or color changes caused by body oils or soils.  Our leathers are warranted to be free from  manufacturing defects, seam slippage, dye transfer, and splitting for one year.  Warranty does not cover use or abuse by pets.  Warranty does not cover use of cleaning chemicals or agents.
Artwork/Logos

1 Year

Warranty does not cover fading, expansion, contraction, effects of extreme high and low humidity or temperature, effects of direct sunlight, or damage to underlying wood or damage to external finish.
